We're Back!

It's been a long time since my last post.  What can I say?  Things have been crazy around here, culminating in our two week cross country drive to San Diego and Tiki Oasis where we taught a symposium called "On The Cheap," chock full of tips to help beat the high cost of entertaining.  I will post a detailed travelogue by the middle of the week, right after we get our new episode online tomorrow, featuring a visit to Frankie's Tiki Room and fabulous Las Vegas!

New Hint, New Episode, Lots of New Stuff!

Since I yakked at you last we attended Ohana Luau at the Lake, in Lake George, NY, where we hosted a room in the infamous room crawl.  We had a disco theme, which was a lot of fun.  It may be my favorite of the crawl rooms we've hosted over the years!

We're teaching another symposium at Tiki Oasis, in San Diego, this year!  The topic is entertaining "On The Cheap," and we DO mean cheap!  If you'll be attending Tiki Oasis, click here to purchase a ticket.  There will be free food and drinks!  

I haven't had much time lately for household improvements, but I am pretty thrilled with this "new" shelving unit that we repurposed for the Velvetiki Room!  It was rotting away in the basement, but a new piece of wood on the bottom and some reed fencing were all it took to give it a new life.

Now I've got to get busy making my costume for our next episode ("An Adventurous Bon Voyage Party") and making things for our Tiki Oasis symposium!

Here's our pile of stuff to try to cram in the car as of two days ago.  It has grown exponentially since then.  Not pictured: DJ equipment, grill, electric cooler, clothing, costumes, shoes, etc.  We're gonna need a bigger car!
